Change Takes Time

Edited: March 11, 2021 (v0.0.6)

More wood working analogies. If you stretch a beam to quickly, it’ll spliter. Sometimes, you can bend a beam into place using force. Although you may think that you acheived your goal, your beam will eventually splinter under the tension. Bending wood takes extra care and time. Change takes time. Allow it the time to change.

More political analogies. In the context of the Overton Window, creeping normality (a.k.a., landscape amnesia) is a process that, “happens slowly through small, often unnoticeable, increments of change.” It’s the passage of time that matters.
