As a leader it’s easy to succumb to the feeling that you’re required to “fix it”. When this feeling arouses an individual response, it can cause you to fail. It’s very infrequent that an individual’s response is what is needed to “fix it”.

Leadership through times of change or transformation is more like tending a garden than fixing a problem. Focus on the medium, the soil composition, the pH, and give change the time it needs to be successful and sustainable. Leaders that focus on the environment that change can happen are the leaders that succeed.
